Albert Pujols, who is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list early next week, was optimistic Friday that he may return from a strained side muscle sooner than St. Louis officials had predicted.
The Cardinals slugger was on the field for drills at first base several hours before Friday night’s game against the Rockies, contorting his body to get to balls bounced his way by third base coach Jose Oquendo. After the workout, last year’s NL MVP said he felt surprisingly good.
Good news for the Cards who have been haging tough.
Game 1 of the NBA finals wasn’t pretty, but it showed why both teams made it to the finals and are fighting for the title. Dallas scratched and clawed to defeat Miami 90-80. Early offense from Miami and late defense by Dallas were the recipes for success for both teams in the earlier playoffs and this game was no different. Edmonton and Carolina are set to go at it in the NHL finals, Miami and Dallas are all set in the NBA finals, the College Softball World Series and College Regional in baseball are in full swing, major league baseball and the weather are both heating up, Mark Cuban wants to buy the Chicago Cubs in baseball and the French Open in tennis is on. Almost forgot that track & field is back in the headlines. (more…)
It looks to be the Dallas Mavericks versus Shaw and the Miami Heat in the 2006 Finals.
It was a shock when the Mavericks came out strong versus the Spurs taking them in a series to remember.
Now it is Miami Heat wupping up on the Detroit Pistons.
So there you have it. Miami Heat versus the Dallas Mavericks.
