Kobe Not the MVP and Not Jordan

Of course not. A MVP helps his team mates improve. He is there day in and day out for his team. While Kobe wants to get into the playoffs to prove that he can do it without Shaq, he is a selfish player.
Has Kobe taken the reigns from Michael Jordan as the leader of the NBA? Once again the answer is, of course not. Jordan was a leader; he led his team and the entire league. Kobe can throw up 40 - 50 shots a game, while his team sits in mediocrity. Jordan got rings as the leader; Kobe got rings along side Shaq. Kobe has yet to tale the Michael Jordan reigns.
Kobe is selfish, He is all about him. In fact, if he would pass the ball more and spread the offense around, then play some better defense, his Lakers would have a couple of more wins and actually be ahead of the Clippers. Yep, that is right, Kobe needs to play to win, not play for himself.
Kobe has a bright future, but his fingers will have more gold if he can be a team player and not a one man show.
I heard Reggie Miller on the Dan Patrick Show and I think I have to agree with him. If Kobe doesn’t take those shots, who will or should? Their team just isn’t good enough right now. Michael Jordan actually had great role players. He had sharpshooters Paxson and Kerr. BJ Armstrong could drive to the hoop, Horace Grant was a really good lunch pail man on defense and on the boards and could hit the free throw
line jumper. They had the human foul team of Cartwright, Wennington, Longley and other big guys to bang the star centers. Pippin was a star in his own right as evidenced by being one of the 75 greatest of all time players.
For the Lakers to win, Kobe has to drive, shoot and bully those other guys to get the most from them. Jordan wasn’t loved by his teammates at all. Until the Lakers get some genuine minor stars or great shooting role players, they’re only as good as Kobe can take them. Miller said if the Lakers finish at least in 6th place, he thinks Kobe is the MVP. It’s obvious you don’t like Kobe, so try to be open to the fact he’s the most dominating player in the league right now and has to do what he does for the team to win.

Kobe scores 81pts.the second highest point total from any one player in a single game.
Critics critisize kobe… but did you ever think that Kobe is putting his body every day,
to carry this team single handedly and win.. Scoring and willing his team to win… You may
think that he got the best of it, coz he takes shot randomly but scorring for your team is
not a fun role, And his doing it night-in and night-out Not that his enjoying it… But
b’coz there’s noone who really is a second scorer… If the Lakers lost a game, Kolbe Bryant
would deffinetly take the blame… But did you ever think that the one not doing his part
is Odom.. i mean this lakers team was replicated to the “Jordan’s Bulls” luckyly for Jordan
He got Pippen who can score 40+pts in any given day… Unfortunately for Kobe he got Odom
who might get his first field goal in the 3rd Qtr… So final comment: It’s Not Kobe’s Fault!”

Well Most of the critics said his not the MVP… Why Not he took this team and made it a winner, he. And if you compare him to jordan it’s not fare! not fare at all… I mean Jordan got great teammates Dennis Rodmann, Scottie pippen, Tony Kukoc, Steve Kerr who were great and Made Jordan look even better ,when he makes plays his teammates finish them not like Kobe who got young teammates ranging from 17-30yrs. old So if you compare Kobe to Jordan its like kobe against the Bulls…So its’s not fare but if you compare Kobe against jordan alone, Kobe might even be better… So…
Dont ever compare Kobe to Jordan…Coz he’s better…

Not jealous at all. My favorite player is a great man and player on and off the court. He also has 2 rings and more to come.
I do not pick players solely for their on court play, I pick players based on life. When all your records are smashed by someone else and you are old wrinkled who cares what you did on the court, it was the lives that you helped change off the court and affected for ever.
Kobe did that, but did it for the worse.
Kobe is one of the greatest players of all times. We all know that.
Lebron will smash nearly every record tat Kobe sets, except his police record hopefully.

once again Kobe is great. Read other Kobe posts.
Your point on Pippen is not correct though from my view. Pippen was awesome but wa snot capabe of 40 any night he wanted. He only avereaged over 20 points a game for 4 seasons, and it was barely over 40.
Kobe has been compared to Jordan since he was i high school. Kobe wanted the comparison and still does. Scoring is fun, maybe you have not done it. He is carrying the team and for that, it is amazing. I am sure they will make the payoffs due to Kobe and Kobe alone.

Kobe isn’t thought of as a champion. Kinda weird since he won 3 but it’s true he isn’t thought of asa champion but rather he is thought of as someone who has to prove he can win without the most dominant player in the league, ofcourse being Shaq.
When you think of Kobe it’s like there’s two seperate guys, kobe when he won with Shaq, and the Kobe who hasn’t proven anything except he can score essentially meaningless points. 35 a game is awesome and you have to give him props for that, but only that and nothing else. He wanted to get away from Shaq and is paying the price for that now.
If you consider Kobe a valid MVP candidate then you HAVE to put LeBron above him. His points are only slightly below Kobe yet his rebounds, assists and steals are slightly above. I would say niether is a valid candidate when you have Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, Elton Brand, the Pistons team (no single Pistons player should win because they are only good because they all bought into the TEAM). Anyway, that’s how I see it, how can anybody honestly see it differently?

In the era when Jordan played, defense was promoted. Today defense is a lot weaker. It’s not as tough and physical as
it used to be. Now any kind of contact is a foul. In the early 90’s the Bulls and the Knicks used to battle and would
have the ability to use their hands to put you in a trap position. The rules of hand checking, the ability to make
contact on a player on certain areas, and to just come over in the lane and stop guys from getting to the basket, has
been taken away from the game. Officials have quick whistles now because they’re promoting scoring. Three years ago,
the league was trying to figure out how they could get scoring back up. If Pippen was gaurding Kobe in today’s game,
he couldn’t be the defender he was known as. The way he was gaurding Magic in the 91 Finals, he would have fouled out.
Whenever you see Kobe score really high in a game it is because he shoots tons of 3 pointers which to me, sometimes is
lazy basketball and he gets to the foul line 20 times. Jordan didn’t have to shoot that many 3’s. He is a better all
around player. I havent seen Kobe get any MVP’s, no Defensive player of the year, nothing! Jordan’s pychological style
that he was able to master, puts him far beyond Kobe. If Jordan in his prime played in today’s game, it would look
like he is playing against high schoolers. They would have to put him in a higher league! He wouldn’t be in the NBA,
he would be in the OSBA (Outer Space Basketball Association).

Needs to play better defense??!! Who the hell wrote this article? King Kobe was on the All Defense First Team twice! Better defense? Yall just haters! Have yall seen his commercial? Jordan had role players on his team, Kobe doesn’t. K.B. is better than M.J. Kobe did what had to be done and thats SHOOT, SHOOT, SHOOT, and SHOOT! Jordan had Pippen. Who does Kobe have? Forget Shap, Kobe doesn’t need him. And who the f!@k said LeBron is better than Kobe? Like that early response said, The reason that yall don’t like him cause your player, role model SUCKS! Put Jordan on the Lakers and see what he’ll do. Exactly. Kobe is the HARDEST working player in the NBA. He’s unstoppable! So just get it through yall thick heads haters, Kobe is better than who yall call the greatest. Yes, im talking to you, MJ.
