Filed under: Football, College — CrimsonLight - Blogs @ 8:10 am

Boise State should Play Ohio State for ChampionshipBoise State fans are looking to the Sugar Bowl with anticipation. With Hawaii not looking as good the past few weeks, Boise State has a chance at the Sugar Bowl.

They need some help from a few more teams in the top 20. A few loses from the top 20, and a win in Hawaii could very well drop Boise State into running for the Sugar Bowl.

Colts as Underdogs send Ravens to early Vacation

Filed under: NFL, Professional — CrimsonLight - Blogs @ 5:35 pm

Colts Beat Ravens 15 - 6 in battle of field goals. Peyton Manning can win the Big GamePeyton Manning and the Indianaplois Colts held off the Baltimore Ravens. Peyton Manning has answered the question, “Can Peyton win a big game?” He most definately can, or at least he can give his team a chance to win. Peyton held the ball for much of the 4th quater keeping the Ravens offense off the field.

In a game that didn’t see a touchdown, the game was a battle of field goals throughout.

In fact Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri set an NFL postseason record with his 33rd career field goal, his fourth of the game for the Indianapolis Colts against the Baltimore Ravens. Adam Vinatieri set the NFL postseason record with his 33rd career field goal, his fourth of the game for the Indianapolis Colts against the Baltimore Ravens.

Peyton Mannning threw an interception early and one in the 4th quarter that didn’t hurt much since it was long and a field goal was on the way. Peyton’s playoff play has been in question since he has been unable to get to the superbowl and the Colts have choked the past few years. Peyton definately looked a bit more on edge than normal.

The question coming into the game was the Colt’s defense. Could they hold the Ravens like they held the Chiefs last week. The Colt’s defense rose to the occasion and kept the Raven’s quiet through the game.

This encore performance is what the Colts need to get the Superbowl. Can they do it again next week?

Nuggets Send Boykins to the Bucks

Filed under: NBA, Professional, misc — CrimsonLight - Blogs @ 12:26 pm

The Denver Nuggets need some space from from the luxury tax. The Milwaukee bucks needed some scoring.

The Denver Nuggets have agreed to send Early Boykins to the Bucks.

The Nuggets are now 10 games into the deal with Allen Iverson, with Carmelo Anthony a few games out from coming back and Denver has agreed to send Boykins and hardly seen guard Julius Hodge to the Bucks for Steve Blake.

The little-guy Boykins has scored 20 points or more in eight of his 10 games since Iverson joined the team, but his time on the court was going to drop when Carmelo Anthony returns from suspension on Jan. 22.

This definately helps the Nuggets and their luxuray tax problem while giving the Bucks some much needed back-court scoring.

Boykins’ coming to Milwaukee definately meets a desperate need for the Bucks, who have lost leading scorers Michael Redd from his knee and Mo Williams due to his shoulder in the past week.

Redd is expected to miss at least a month, and Williams will be sidelined 2 - 3 weeks. Charlie Villanueva is also out indefinitely and Simmons hasn’t played a game this season and has needed 2 surgeries.
